Be Squared Hat

With size 7 or 8 16" circular needle, stitch marker, yarn needles and about 2 to 3 ozs. Worsted weight yarn
Gauge: 4 to 4.5 sts. per inch
Cast on 77 sts. Place marker and join without twisting.
Border: K1 row, P1 row, repeat those two rows once
Begin Pattern rows:
Row 1,3,5: Knit
Row 2,4,6: * P2, K5* repeat around
Row 7,9: Purl
Row 8: Knit
Repeat rows 1-9 until piece measures approximately 7"
Decrease Rows:
Row 1: *Knit 9, K2 tog* repeat around
2: *Knit 8, K2 tog* "
3: *K 7, K2tog* "
4. *K6, K2tog* "
5. *K5, K2 tog* "
6. *K4, K2 tog* "
7. *K3, K2 tog* "
8. *K2, K2 tog* "
9. *K1, K2 tog* "
10. K2 tog around until 5 or 6 sts remain. Cut yarn leaving a 12"; tail. Weave through remaining sts and fasten
off. Weave in ends.
